A royal panchayat
രാജകീയ പഞ്ചായത്ത്
Constituted under the Kochi state, covering the revenue villages of Chelakode, Vadakkethara, Pazhayannur, Vennur and Elanad. A joint Pazhayannur Group Panchayat Court, shared with Thiruvilwamala and Kondazhi, heard cases for all three. C. Karunakaran Nair became the first president on 9 Meenam 1114, at a 9-member meeting chaired by the Chelakkara Division Sanitary Inspector; R. Krishna Iyer succeeded him on 30 Makaram 1119.
കൊച്ചി രാജ്യത്തിന് കീഴിൽ രൂപീകൃതമായി, ചേലക്കോട്, വടക്കേത്തറ, പഴയന്നൂർ, വെന്നൂർ, എളനാട് എന്നീ റവന്യൂ വില്ലേജുകൾ ഉൾപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു. തിരുവില്വാമല, കൊണ്ടാഴി പഞ്ചായത്തുകളുമായി ചേർന്ന് പഴയന്നൂർ ഗ്രൂപ്പ് പഞ്ചായത്ത് കോർട്ട് സ്ഥാപിച്ചു. 1114 മീനമാസം 9-ന് ചേലക്കര ഡിവിഷൻ സാനിറ്ററി ഇൻസ്പെക്ടറുടെ അദ്ധ്യക്ഷതയിൽ ചേർന്ന 9 അംഗ യോഗത്തിൽ സി. കരുണാകരൻ നായർ ആദ്യ പ്രസിഡന്റായി; 1119 മകരമാസം 30-ന് ആർ. കൃഷ്ണയ്യർ അധികാരമേറ്റു.

Under the new Panchayat Act, a 9-member committee took office in December 1963 with K. Shankunni Menon as president and C.S. Sukumaran as vice president. In 1964, Easwari Ammal was nominated as the panchayat's first woman member.
